Police identify suspect in Boxing Day abduction

Toronto police have released the identity of a suspect charged in connection with the Boxing Day abduction and sexual assault of a four-year-old girl.
The girl was visiting relatives when she was taken from a home on Charleswood Drive near Wilson Avenue and Bathurst Street in the early morning hours of Dec. 26.
She was found outside a nearby home hours later.
Witnesses told police they saw a man running from the scene. Investigators arrested a suspect at around 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
A publication ban imposed over the weekend prevented police from identifying the suspect until today.
Ryan Belbin, 28, has been charged with break and enter, abduction of a person under 14 years of age, sexual assault and sexual interference.
Belbin appeared in court Tuesday and was remanded into custody.
